Today was a pretty typical day for us here...well except for the fact that we got to spend more lovely time with our Joel. :)
This afternoon Jael woke up from her afternoon nap about a half hour before her big sister. She was contentedly playing with some of their now communal toys when I went up and opened Hannah's door to ease her out of her nap. When Hannah did venture downstairs to see what we were up to Jael lit up! She was gnawing on some toy or other and as soon as Hannah graced us with her sweet presence, Jael dropped everything and crawled across the rug to go and 'get her Hannah girl'!
Then Hannah passed Jael by, after acknowledging her affection, and proceeded to her toys across the other side of the rug. Jael made an immediate about face and crawled over to play with Hannah. Hannah sweetly patted Jael's head while leaning down to look in her face, kissed her and then came over to see me. Jael then looked up at me, after such a kind exchange with her Hannah favorite and beamed up at me with her teething smile...drool pooling on her chin. She could not have been more happy for anything in the world.
That whole exchange took less than 2 minutes...but it was such a tender moment between the two sisters. A moment I would not have expected at such young ages, but am so very blessed to have witnessed.
